Join songwriter and storyteller David Newland and a superb group of musicians for an evening exploring the mythical Northwest Passage through the Canadian Arctic.

For his opening set, David will present images, stories, and video from his travels as a musician and Zodiac driver with Adventure Canada.
This will be followed by a concert of original, Arctic-themed music accompanied by Saskia Tomkins, Steafan Hannigan, Sam Allison, and Oisin Hannigan.

David Newland is best known in Orillia for his appearances as main stage MC and performer at Mariposa Folk Festival. A writer, musician, and host with a passion for the Canadian experience, David was recently named a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, a distinction that reflects a lifelong engagement with landscape and story.

David’s original songs, stunning images, and dynamic stories of this mythic region of the far north are inspiring and eye-opening. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to witness the Northwest Passage come to life through story and song.

Presented in association with Mariposa Folk Foundation, the Stephen Leacock Museum and Adventure Canada.

Tickets also available at Leacock Cafe, 50 Museum Drive, Orillia.
This is an all ages event. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
